Micky Flanagan
Just a brief interlude from the Spurs, relegation, Zaza threads.

£171 for a single ticket at the O2.

He's good but he can fuck off at that price.

Some people try and be 'cool' and go against the grain, cup of tea being the obvious.

Re: Micky Flanagan
I had a strange comedian related experience last weekend while out for a country walk with the other half. We were in a woods and there was no-one about. The silence was broken by a voice from somewhere in the woods but we couldn't see where the person was. I looked at the Mrs and said that I knew that voice. I said it's that bloke off Mock The Week.

Then he appeared. Walking his dog and shouting down his phone, it was Hal Cruttendon. (Posh camp sounding one)

Depends on the night nowadays I think. Actually went there for New Years Eve last year (party afterwards obviously) and it was full of pikeys dressed up like they were going to a wedding.

Was superb :o)

Saw Jimmy Carr as a complete unknown at the comedy café one firm Christmas do 15/16 odd years ago. Cunt has cracked me up ever since, he's brilliant live.

Oioi - Also saw him at the Pleasance off Caledonian Road for a tenner two years ago.
Best bit though is not the price but the fact that it only holds about 150 people. I don't want to go to the O2 and watch someone on a screen...

Saw him the first time in the late 90's somewhere around Shoreditch. I was with two northerners who didn't fully appreciate him.

Good player in his day, remember his great tear up with Hales.

Lee Mack is excellent

Re: Micky Flanagan
I like him on the tv shows he does, and he doesn't give away much of his live material so I'm probably being harsh :.)

Re: Micky Flanagan
Seen Jimmy Carr live who is fucking hilarious. Good thing with him is that he rarely crow bars his stand up routine material in to his regular TV appearances like so many comedians.

Re: Micky Flanagan
Lee Hurst's club -- just the right level of feeling that anything could kick-off at any moment to keep the evening interesting! Great night out.

Re: Micky Flanagan
Seen him and Russell Kane (twice) over the past years thought both were excellent... I then went and saw Frankie Boyle... who was just a unfunny Scottish cunt

Re: Micky Flanagan
Do they still have a disco after the show at Hurst's place?

Lee Hurst's club is superb. Love it there.

Re: Micky Flanagan
Nothing against him personally, just don't him funny as a standup or a TV 'personality'. Same for a lot of those overexposed Live At The Apollo style comics. Seriously, who can tolerate Michael McIntyre for longer than it takes to find the remote control?

The whole 'out out' thing is about as funny as hold music. Reminds me of when people thought just saying 'big light' or 'garlic bread' was hilarious.

Re: Micky Flanagan
Was one of the first people I saw at Lee Hurst's backyard comedy club. Must have been 15 years ago now.

He was hilarious and as with most comedians, of course they are going to use the same material if you see them a lot in a short space of time, so you need to leave it a few years between gigs.

Great little comedy club that is, go there all the time still.

Re: Micky Flanagan
I booked him for a charity event i organised about 6 years ago before he made it to the big time after i saw him at the Bloomsbury Theatre the first time he toured the Out Out tour.

Fucking lovely fella, really down to earth and generous with his time. Can only wish him all the luck and success he is now achieving.

Re: Micky Flanagan
Saw him at the pleasance, off the caledonian road, about 2 years ago. £10 in a place that holds about 200 max. Laughed all night. Worth every penny.

Yeah but no need to keep repeating it.

Re: Micky Flanagan
Probably because that was the name of the tour?
